Exposed fasteners are a type of metal roofing where the panels are fastened to the structure directly through on face of the metal then into the framing or roof deck. It is known as ‘exposed’ because the head of the screws will be visible as opposed to structural seam roofing which would conceal them.

Although it is a less aesthetic option, exposed fastener metal roofing are popular because the overall costs are low and they are relatively easy to install. The use of mechanical seaming is not required, and only basic tools will be needed.
Because of how easy it is to install, exposed fastener roofing is perfect for DIY projects and does not require any technical skill.
