What is the difference between G60 and G90 galvanized finishes?The difference between G60 and G90 galvanized steel is the amount of zinc coating applied for corrosion protection. G60 has a coating of 0.60 oz/ft² (183 g/m²), while G90 has 0.90 oz/ft² (275 g/m²), providing 50% more zinc and greater resistance to corrosion G60 is suitable for indoor applications or low-moisture environments, such as HVAC, interior metal structures, and construction panels. In contrast, G90 offers superior protection and is ideal for outdoor use, roofing, steel decking, and structures exposed to weather, humidity, or corrosive conditions. If the application requires higher durability and corrosion resistance, G90 is the best choice. However, if moisture exposure is minimal and cost efficiency is a priority, G60 may be sufficient.
